Default i realize this is for robins o

i realize this is for robins only, but i was hoping some of y'all might know something about the wierd tuners that came with this 73 ish tele deluxe i found. here's a URL:

smitty, if ya gotta delete this, i understand. it's just that this tuner mystery is makin' me nuts!

Nah, Charles, you're allowed one off-topic post in your lifetime, and if this is how you want to use it, it's fine with me... <grin>

I've never seen such tuners before... there's probably a reason...<grin>

I'd be surprised if the holes lined up exactamundo with the original Fender tuners. I'd pull one and see if there's not an extra screw hole in there.

Looks like a good rescue project. You can get her all fixed up, sell it, and buy a Robin.

(There, now you're back on topic <grin> )

Charles,I'd have to say that these are not factory tuners.I have only seen "F" logo tuners on Teles of this period.They changed from double line Klusons to the "F" logo tuners in late 66'.Then continued on using them until 81'ish.Although it may be a real Fender neck,and body I would just about promise that if you pulled one of the tuners it would tell the tale underneath.Email a jpeg to Gruhn if you need further convincing.Thanks

ok. to all interested. the cool tuners in question could be found on a fender montego (3x3), and, i'm told...some coronados. thanks for the help. robin rules!
