Hi ,
How about a "Limited Edition Robin Guitar" ?? A Robin Lovers Limited Edition Guitar with perhaps 20 - 40 pieces made of this instrument. This instrument would be a players guitar and not flashy tops or graphics. You know how some companys have made budget guitars and years later people are scrambling to get them because they are really good playin instruments ? Thats what this would be about :-)
Nothing fancy just that it lets people know if you can really play or not. How about it ??
The guitar could have some sort of design criteria to let people know it was part of a limited edition series . Keep the guitar within a reasonable price and we could have some sort of lottery to get in on one. A downpayment to the retailer and your on you way :-)
A limited edition series within a working budget , like some of the ones already available
but with a special meaning.
How about it ?? :-)

Ya know, honestly, it doesn't do much for me. Since many Robin's are (custom) made to order, the idea of a "limited edition series" is kind of a step backwards, imo... I mean, how many Avalon Classics with Bigsby are floating around out there? (Forget about how many in orange!)... how many Ranger Baritones have you ever seen? (I've found three, and own one of 'em...) I guess I'm not sure why I want a limited edition if I can have a one of a kind, and have it built to my specs?

... Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing you. Just throwing out my reply for the sake of discussion.

Besides, if I get a Texas Wrangler AND a Robinlovers custom, it may get tense, and my doghouse isn't insulated! <grin>

Not to be rude, but I agree with Smitty...
I have a completely custom Machete being built right now. It'll be a very, very limited edition (1 of 1)! It doesn't get any better than that. All a limited run "special edition" says to me is "cheesy sales gimmick". As far as I can tell
any stock Robin guitar would fit your criteria as set forth above (don't see too many wild graphics anymore...), and ALL Robins, from the least expensive stock model to the most pricey custom, are great playing guitars, and are highly sought after used.
Just my opinion-

Hi,
I agree with a lot of what you guys are saying. Its a reality that limited edition runs of instruments are often frowned upon by many guitarist for the reason you mentioned as well as many others.A step backward is a good way to put the consequences of doing something like this. I also agree that Robin guitars are consistently high quality thru out their entire range of offerings regardless of price. As for a custom made guitar , I don't think their is a company out there that will build it to your specs as good as Robin does .
Currently there is no other company where you get as reasonable a price for a custom shop guitar or a stock model.
I think my praises of Robin Guitars were well covered in a prior posting. (Perhaps in the for sale/wanted Robin section) I don't remember right now, not enough caffeine in me yet. I own three Robin guitars & I am working on a forth (hopefully- Before I get married :-)
Good God, the guitars I went thrue before I found Robin guitars , the journey was long and hard. Kind of like Wile E. Coyote falling off a cliff in the desert :-)
I do own two B.C.-Rich U.S.A. Mockingbirds from 1979. They were bodyblanks that were never put into production and I had them finished. There is a crying moon on each guitar from The "Strange Universe Album" ( Frank Marino & Mahoganyrush) on each guitar.
These are the only other guitars I own other then my three Robins and the potential forth :-)
I would like to put the whole family in the "Show us your Robin section". But I don't want to get Crucified for having my Mockingbirds in their too :-)
If anyone can help me with info on how to do the pictures & get them on the site I would appreciate the help.
My guitar listing was not to brag, it was just too demonstrate that when I come across a guitar maker as good as Robin I want the very best. These guitars truly represent the very best available today :-)
As for the limited edition run it would be best to let that one go away given the wise opinions that were put forth.
I appreciate the input and willingness to participate from everyone.
It would be great if a lot of us Robin Guitar owners could get together sometime in the future.
I have never been to Texas and would be willing to take the trip to do it.
Any advice on how to do the pictures ? Can I put the Mockingbirds in too ?
Everyone get there doghouse insulated

Thankyou,
Blue Lightning

Whipped indeed. She has pretty well drawn the line at 50 guitars.

Gotcha beat. 372 guitars, give or take 25 or so.

Most of mine are for sale, though.

Most.

Okay,
Now I know whats been keeping Robin so busy and back ordered these past few months :-)
Asian art work with regards to the social significance of Dragons and there meaning is very Beautiful.
This is a very nice guitar...Congragulations !!
Incredible work Robin.. Was the inlays done by hand or the more common method of Laser Method ? Either way it is very Nice...
Now Robin , How about that Medley Pro your working on for me ?? :-)
Also , I am looking for a 24 fret replacement neck for my other Medley ? I was turned down once already and Warmoth does not make a 24 fret neck that fits correctly . Only the fretboard is extended....Stewart Mac does not make a 24 fret replacement either , only neck thru..
Very nice Guitar,
Thankyou

This guitar was made in 1992 so I don't think it is holding up anyones order. The inlay was all done by hand, thanks for the compliment.
