my 83 Ranger.. i love this guitar.. it has a huge, thick boatneck on it.. and it's got a great tone..

Thanks.. it's pretty cool.. i've had it for about 6 years now.. when i got it from Bart @ Rockin Robin, Dave Wintz was there and said that it was one of the 83 Catalog guitars.. it was the one in the B&W photo.. and that i should snag it quick, that there was a local guy that collects them and that it probably wouldn't be there the next time i came in.. i had went in a couple of times in a few weeks, each time checking out this guitar.. the neck was just too thick for me, and was hard to play.. but, i plugged it into a Matchless Lightning-15, and doodled around a little.. well, the tone was unreal.. i thought it was the amp.. so i plugged off into another amp and the tone came through again.. (i just don't like to "play" when plugged in at a shop.. i guess it's shell shock from going to GC on saturdays..) i negotiated for a HSC, and got it that day..

and i seriously doubt that i will let it go now.. the neck has become comfortable (that took some time for me to get used to..) and the tone is absolutely sweet..

i stuck the Bettie sticker on it about a year ago.. it's a sticker that has a much less aggressive adhesive on it, so it's not going to rip the finish off the guitar, when i decide to remove it..

i'm a member of the Bettie Scouts of America, and i've been trying to get Bettie to sign it for the last couple of years.. i hope that it happens..

i love this guitar.. and i wouldn't mind having a few more of them.. ;)
