Hi everyone. I'm from canada and Robin guitars aren't exactly a common guitar here. I picked this Robin up used at a local music store and it is the best guitar i've played. Are these guitars common in the USA?
Thanks

Cool - nice Avalon Classic (with Dolphins!). Is the color "wine red"? It's unusual to see a flametop with a dark solid color like your guitar.
Robins aren't very common here either. They're a small company and only produce a few guitars a week.

yeah, I live in Portland, Oregon and I am the only person I know here that owns a Robin (it's a medley). As a matter of fact, I go to the guitar stores and the people that work there look at me funny when I brag about it. I once showed it to the guys at a local music store and they thought that it was some cheap, jackson knock off...I was so pissed, I threw a fit in the middle of the store then stormed out like the 14 year old kid I was

Funny line... I'm reminded that when I used to go in a stereo store when I was 15, I was waited on by a college-aged kid who always tried to play me like I didn't know anything... Fast forward 30 years, and now I go in and I'm waited on by a college-aged kid who tries to play me like I don't know anything...
Welcome to Robinlovers....

I know the original post is pretty old, but I may have ended up with that same guitar! Looks similar and I think the finish is fairly rare.
If it is the same one (I have no idea) then it means this guitar traveled from Houston to Canada, to South Korea and back to Houston (and that's just what I know about).

Looks great, but a different guitar.
I am patiently gnawing at the edge of the table, waiting for mine....

Can you post a picture of the Ranger Bass? Include a close-up of the body front, and a close-up of the front and back of the headstock.
If it's the Ranger Bass I saw on eBay a few weeks ago, the humbucker at the neck is not original.

I went back and looked at your older posts in other threads and saw the info regarding the seriall #.
Your bass is a 1993 Ranger Bass. The black pickups are original - the humbucker was probably added later.
If you remove the pickguard, you should be able to tell if the routing for the humbucker is a modification or not. In other words, if the hole in the body where the pickup resides is bare wood or is painted a different color than the rest of the body, then the humbucker is not original (it's very unlikely that the humbucker would be original).
Here's a picture of my 1991 Ranger Bass:

Well i finally stopped playing this bass long enough to check out the humbucker cavity. The wood
under the pickup is bare and not painted as you
stated,Ken.but the switch is a 5 way and at the top it is only the humbucker and one notch below it combines the top pickup with the middle pickup.
Awesome tone through this very resonant body!
