Howdy Gang-
We are pleased to announce that the first annual Robin Reunion, an event celebrating Robin Guitars and the enthusiasts that support our craftsmanship, will take place in Houston, Texas on Saturday, October 2, 2004. The Robin Reunion will feature a factory tour, BBQ dinner, an All Star Jam Session, and tons of good old Texas fun. You'll get to meet the entire Robin and Rio Grande Team, have Dave autograph your guitar, hang out with other Robin lovers, and best of all, jam on some of our latest and greatest Texas beauties. More details, including hotel discounts, are coming in the future, but make sure to mark your calendars and give me a call at 713-957-0470 or shoot me an email at allen@robinguitars.com right away to save a spot.
Cheers,
Allen

Still wanna go, Greg?
The HFC Open House is October 22nd.
Waddayasay? You and me in the HEMI pickup on the ultimate road trip!
We'll blaze a trail into Texas, go to the Robin Reunion, get some Bar-B-Q and head back home!

That'd be great if some other HFC people (besides myself) made it to Houston.
I talked to Allen last week and he's got some cool stuff planned.

Newbie here. No Robin guitar YET, but I've played a few and it probably won't be long before I do. Didn't ever get a chance to do the factory visit depite many business trips to Houston last year.
I'm proud to be able to say that I plan to be there for the open house. And even prouder to say that I'm looking forward to meeting some new people as well as terrorizing the neighborhood with the HFC pack.

Folks we're cookin' up quite a party for the Robin Reunion on Saturday, October 2 in Houston. Here's some of the details so all of you can nail down the specifics on your Texas trips:
Saturday, October 2:
3-5pm Factory Tour Starts
Smell the fresh sawdust and watch the woodchips fly as we build ever more Texas beauties.
6-10pm BBQ Dinner and Robinlovers Jams
Mighty tasty BBQ and tons of great music. Make sure to bring your Robin(s) because on Saturday night "your Robin is your meal ticket" plus we'll take a giant group photo of the entire gang holding our Robins. We've got a great house band named McLemore Ave to play some B3 driven soul instrumentals with tons of guitar to play during dinner and back up any one who needs it during the jam.
Sunday, October 3:
11am Brunch for all out of towners
Chow down, coffe up, and talk about how much fun we all had the night before and how much fun we're going to have at the 2nd annual Robin Reunion.
T minus 69 days and counting. Who else is in?

I would like to say that though I just called Mark(thecajunboyfromhell)and invited him, I am NOT RESPONSIBLE for any trouble we may get into. HE is the instigator, here....
There, I said it.

"Shock and Awe phase" - wish I had thought of that!
You invite the Cajunboy and then wash your hands of any responsibility?
No, we will all pay the price, but we blame you!
If I can get the nerve up to fly (haven't flown in 15 years) I'll be there!

Ouch Ouch Ouch. Well, you got a few weeks yet. Should be a good time for all. Sounds like we'll have a nice assortment of amps at the jam, too... I'll have a Dr. Z 6545 w/2x12 Z-Best cab there for anyone who wants to give that beast a ride. Hey Greg! Will that be enough tube for ya???
Hope everyone had a safe weekend. I'm trying to figure out how to stretch it to Friday but it doesn't look good.

It always seems that things go from bad to worse, it is looking more and more like I will not be able to make the event http://robinlovers.com/discus/clipart/sad.gif Somebody in my family (that shall remain nameless, my brother) has decided that this particular weekend would be a "GREAT" time to have a family reunion. I am getting a bit miffed right now and I am trying to get out of it. Wish me luck...

Tell him to bring a photo of you and have everyone say "Hello" to it.
Call him from Houston saying "My car won't start".
Tell him that you have to stop at the store to get beans and franks and that you'll be RIGHT THERE and get on a plane.
Tell him "I ALREADY HAVE PLANS and Auntie Clarise will just end up feeling me up when she hits the bottom of the Wild Turkey anyway".
Tell him the truth.
Any one of these will work if you LEAN IN.

Greg,
Trust me I have tried the " I already have plans" excuse. I am not giving up just yet, I may have to just drive up for the day. It is still a in the planning phase right now.

I would like to remind everyone to contact Allen at Robin Guitars if you're planning on attending Saturday. If you have already let him know you're coming you don't need to it again, but please don't assume "he knows I wouldn't miss it" because that's a tough assumption to plan FOOD around. So, if you haven't RSVP'd please do so ASAP and give Allen one less thing to worry about before Saturday... allen@robinguitars.com or 713-957-0470.
Look forward to seeing y'all Saturday.
