Any opinions on tonal variations between the two? I love the simplicity and look of the wraparound, and probably wouldn't mind any slight intonation issues with it. Does anyone find that it effects the tone either way?

Tone is effected in a BIG way. The wrap tails (the original style ones - not the crappy Wilkinson compensated wrap) yeild a piano type growl that you simply can't get any other way. Get your hands on a quality wrap tail like a Pigtail, and you'll see (hear) what I mean.
...and as for intonnation...I'll let BCR Greg give his stance on that subject...

If you're worried about intonation with a wraparound, TonePros makes a wraparound with individually adjustable saddles.

I suppose I shouldn't be too worried about intonation. For the style I play, it's not too big of a deal.
Kizanski - the Pigtail looks nice. Does Robin use those?
