Greets,

Got this from the Son-In-Law. Robin Avalon Custom Classic, but an older model before the reverse headstock. On back of headstock says Handcrafted in the USA & S/N: 05275645. Strat look-alike, all the way down to knobs, switch & pickups. Great sound & playing.
TIA
Yosef

Welcome Joseph,

hate to say it, but if it is a Strat lookalike, it's definitely not an Avalon. Likely it's a guitar doctored with a label or two to fool the pawn shops. If you can post a pic we'll be glad to give you the full rundown.

To be precise, looks almost exactly like the "Original Recipe" Ken posted here: http://robinlovers.com/discus/messages/6/849.html except the headstock is like what's on the Rival in reverse in that same thread. The Robin logo is in same position as with the Orginal Recipe.

This is an Avalon: http://robinguitars.com/avalon_dolphin_classic.html

Unfortunately, the guitar you posted, although "Made in the USA," is a Peavey (the neck is, anyway).

It was for sale on ebaY some time ago, and the auction was stopped prematurely, I think after it appeared here: http://robinlovers.com/discus/messages/5/720.html?1088047668

Tough break, Joe.

It is most assuredly a Peavey neck! however the rest is in question still.Sorry to be the bringers of bad news, but if it plays well and sounds good then crank it up.

Appreciate the help. Sorry to bring in a fake. It is a Peavey Predator w faked Robin logo. Still a good student guitar, and probably a better than usual example. Seller disclosed this to my Son-In-Law before he bought it -- asked him after we stripped the turkey. He just didn't tell me when he gave it to me LOL.
